# 3rd semester, mathematics-technology Autumn 2018

**Framework**

The framework for the study in mathematics-technology is described in the curriculum, called "Studieordningen" (unfortunately only in Danish).

**Project**The project theme is "Dynamical Systems".

The project on dynamical systems has three principal objectives:

- The students acquire knowledge about the mathematical theory of dynamical systems and their application in modelling of technological systems.

- The students are trained in the use of mathematical tools in simulation of dynamical systems

- The students improve their skills in composing a correct and well-structured mathematical text.

**Courses**The math courses

*Analysis 1*and

*Linear Algebra with Applications*of the third semester help you to widen your mathematical horizon, they supply you with new tools, and they train you to mathematical reasoning in rigorous terms. Both math courses are shared by all 3rd semester students, i.e. Mathematics, Mathematics-Economics and Mathematics-Technology.

The course in *Mathematical Modelling and Simulation of Technological Systems II* is a continuation of the 1st semester course. You will study more advanced modelling and Python based simulation and visualization.

Most students experience a rather big gap between studies at the first two semesters and the following semesters. We endeavour to bridge the gap between the semesters by adjusting the courses currently and to help you overcome `teething troubles', if any.
